School News On March 14, 2018, at 10:00 am, many Trevor students and faculty from both campuses walked out of school in solidarity with an estimated 1,000,000 students partici- pating in the #NationalSchoolWalkout to protest the government's inaction in response to gun violence plaguing the country. As called for by the organizers, Women's March Youth EMPOWER, Trevor activists and allies took part in a silent, 17-minute protest outside of the school buildings. Signage that had been prepared in the days and weeks leading up to the walkout were used to express deep frustration and calls for action. en again on April 20, more than 60 Upper School students joined in another National School Walkout Day aimed at keeping attention focused on gun violence. Students marched to Washington Square Park, in Greenwich Village, to rally for gun reform and for Congress to take action to keep students safe at school. #neveragain e Trevor Day School baseball team finished the 2018 season at 10–5, as NYCAL tournament champions for the first time in over 10 years. e Dragons were led by the outstanding play of seniors Nelson Monaco and Michael Faccibene. Monaco finished the year 6–1 on the mound, winning his last four starts, and throwing a no-hitter against UNIS in the Dragons first win of the year. He struck out 53 batters in only 31.3 innings, to finish the year with a 1.77 ERA. Faccibene led the Dragons in nearly every offensive category, including hits (25), doubles (9), RBI (26), all while hitting .490 for the season. Junior Jake B. picked up where Faccibene left off, contributing a .408 batting average, along with 26 runs scored, 22 stolen bases, and 20 hits. Baseball Champions In addition to Monaco and Faccibene, Trevor will say goodbye to Matthew Lehman, who led the team with 1.05 ERA, tossed a no-hitter against UNIS, and closed out the championship tournament game against Loyola. Although they will miss the dynamic leadership of seniors Jared Glickman, Matthew Versichelli, Jake Harman, and Liam Flanagan, the Dragons will look to a promising duo of juniors in Jalen M. (a no-hitter vs. Dwight, 26 Ks in 23 IP) and Ben K. (.428 OBP, 10 RBI), along with the sterling pitching and defense of sophomores Philip S. and Jake S.
