T revor Day School's strategic plan, approved by the Board of Directors in September 2016, represents a visionary undertaking for the institution. rough the thoughtful articulation of five pillars, Trevor ambitiously outlined school-wide goals and strategies for the next five years. In focusing the fourth pillar on diversity, the strategic plan distinguishes itself as a document that demonstrates Trevor's commitment to facing the future with courage, creativity, and openness for an inclusive and equitable community for all. A year before the strategic plan was approved, a steering committee composed of 100 Trevor constituents (faculty, staff, and parents), held a series of meetings in which diversity, inclusion, and engagement were examined at great length, culminating in a comprehensive SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, oppor- tunities, and threats) analysis. e data, experiences, and opinions shared at these meetings were then presented to a panel of students for feedback. Ultimately, all of the information gathered was distilled into a series of recommendations and action items, the very first of which was to empower an official team of diversity leaders among the faculty and staff. Trevor's inaugural diversity team is made up of Joseph Ulitto (Grades 9–12 French Teacher & Co-Director of Diversity), Dawn Anderson (College Counseling Associate & Co-Director of Diversity), and Michelle Munizaga (Grade Two Head Teacher & Associate Director of Diversity). e team also partners with a dedicated committee of parents, faculty, and staff to advance their mission and work. While the diversity team has embarked on an immense undertaking in their first (nearly) two years of existence— which includes implementing new programs, examining curricula, by The Trevor Diversity Team DawN Anderson, Michelle munizaga, and Joseph Ulitto, with contributions by Debby Keehn Black Strategic Plan Goal Trevor strives for commitment in its students, faculty, staff, and leadership to three interrelated principles: diversity, inclusion, and engagement with responsibilities beyond oneself. ese principles will be a guiding force in all that we do.
