Trevor's Board of Trustees Burcu Mirza .................................................................................................................... Burcu Mirza and her husband, Agha, came to Trevor in 2015 and have a daughter in 7th grade and a son in 9th grade. She received her BA degree in Economics and Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. Burcu is an active volunteer and philanthropist, serving as an alumni admissions representative for her alma mater, a member of the Leadership Council of MIT's Public Service Center, and is a long-time supporter of Developments in Literacy, a nonprofit organization that operates schools for girls in rural Pakistan. In addition, Burcu actively served on the Board of Directors of Turkish Philanthropy Funds, the leading American foundation focused in Turkey, and as a trained facilitator for Parents in Action. In 2018, Burcu ran the NYC Marathon to raise support and awareness for DKMS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders. At Trevor, Burcu is a Trevor Fund Co-Chair, having served as an annual fund class agent for several years, and is active in the Parents Association. Prior to this, Burcu worked as a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase in the Fixed Income Derivatives division, for five years, with the firm's institutional clients, such as international asset managers and hedge funds. We extend our deepest thanks to the entire Board for its leadership and commitment to our community. Sandi Simpson .............................................................................................................. Sandi and her husband, Gary, joined the Trevor community in 2011 and have a son in 7th grade. A native of South Africa, Sandi moved to New York, following a successful career in the hospitality industry, to open a division for Universal Footwear and serve as Chief Operating Officer of Zoom USA, Inc. Sandi has enjoyed a diverse career in retail, fashion, customer service, operations, and management. Her excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills have been greatly leveraged at Trevor. Sandi served as Co-Chair for the school's annual auction galas in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017. Sandi is Co-President of Trevor's Parents Association, and is also actively involved in her son's ice hockey association, as well as concussion prevention and management.
