W e are going to list cultural identifiers. Please stand, if you are able, or you may wave your hand, for the cultural identifier that you feel applies to you. This activity is voluntary. After a community lunch break, the second part of MIOW Day would have either a guest speaker, guest performer, student panel, or student presentations. e last several MIOW Day afternoons have consisted of grade- level activities and deeper discussions stemming from the morning workshops. e latest addition to MIOW has been the creation of Mini-MIOW. e brainchild of Dawn Anderson, former Trevor Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Co-Director, Mini-MIOW is an evening event for parents. It recreates MIOW Day on a smaller scale, so that parents can see first hand what MIOW Day entails and have a chance to attend some of the same workshops as the students. e first two Mini-MIOW evenings were highly successful and have inaugurated a new tradition at Trevor. MIOW has always been one of the major platforms for Trevor to address racial and social justice. In its early years, it was one of the few places where issues of justice and equity were discussed outside the classroom. rough MIOW Day and the continued work of dedicated student activists, MIOW is truly an integral part of DEI work.
