What better tribute could a teacher receive than one from a former student? Jessica Spraos '07, now a global nonprofit marketing strategist living in France at the time, recorded a tribute video, which was played at the Alumni Reunion this past May. She said: "I'm thrilled to write a tribute for your retirement from Trevor Day School, because I have so much to thank you for—my life would have been very different if we hadn't crossed paths. You shared and nurtured a deep enthusiasm for the French language and French culture. You taught me—and so many other students—how to be curious and how to be kind; how to think; and how to keep thinking about the things that we loved. I had the pleasure of being one of your advisees and witnessed firsthand the compassion and goodness that you brought to school every day. You made me feel safe, heard, and special—and built a deep sense of trust. I know you did the same for many other students whom you mentored throughout your career." Dianne's retirement seems to have been very short-lived. is fall, she began teaching French to adults in Trevor's first-ever continuing education program.
