A Letter from the Head of School Dear Trevor Community: Recently, I spoke via Skype with a talented student in China, who is applying for admission to Trevor. From twelve time zones and 12,000 miles away, this remarkable young person reminded me of our commitment to help actualize our students' experiences as global citizens—so that they eagerly seek connection and interconnection with people of cultures and experiences unlike their own. In other words, we always need to build bridges to continue advancing and innovating education. Inherent to Trevor's mission is the commitment to bring together a diverse and engaged community of people who, through a shared education, are empowered to become local, national, and international leaders. is commitment is written into Trevor's DNA. Together, we strive to form bridges—across disciplines, ways of thinking, cultures, time, and space—so that Trevor's ambitious academic program is tangible and lasting; and so that we can offer consistent opportunities for deep engagement and the benefits of a balanced environment and mindset. It is our promise to our students, parents, and to each other. Publication of the biannual Trevor Magazine is always a good time to recall and reflect upon the value of connection. In this issue, it includes watching agile students graduate into a world that can only be imagined, and a celebration of Trevor educators' tenure, whose impact on children has been felt over decades. It includes an administrator's trip to examine education in Finland, and completion of the Maya Lin-designed rooftop community garden on our East Campus, a space to find balance in daily life at Trevor. We also see these values exemplified in our accomplished alumni, who are leading organizations and schools, exhibiting their 0 3 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n W I N T E R 2 0 1 9 – 2 0 2 0 art at the Whitney, directing major motion pictures, even making arguments before the Supreme Court. We proudly highlight them in our Alumni Profiles and Class Happenings sections. Trevor, like all schools, builds a bridge for students to cross from childhood into adulthood. And speaking of bridges, witness a few of the Class of 2019 Bridge projects, which were completed last June. Bridge is a Trevor signature program—one that carries Trevor graduates into their future. What more exciting journey could there possibly be? Sincerely yours, Scott R. Reisinger
