In what ways are you living the mission of TDS? Curiosity and lifelong learning are a huge part of my life and work. With each new case, I do a deep dive into a novel legal issue, which is usually quite different from anything I have faced before, and I need to learn enough within a few weeks or months to become a real expert. So it's a constant process of exploration, making new connections, and asking lots of questions. Right: e Tripp family, when the brothers were both in high school: Jim, Ben (probably 16 years old), Zack (probably 14 years old), and Ceci. is photograph was taken in Bellport, New York, by Carla Beermann, an alumni parent. Is there anything else that you would like to share? It was great fun coming for the reunion this past summer, seeing lots of old friends and teachers like Ms. Brighton, Mr. Cavar, Mr. Lindow, and Ms. Sabatacakis. It was quite a crew. But like everybody in my class, I miss Drew Harvey and Abigail Bing, our classmates who are no longer with us, and wish they could have been there, too. What are your passions? Arguing Supreme Court cases is an extraordinary experience and honor. But my real passion is spending time with Kate and our two amazing girls, Eliza and Annika. What are some fond memories from your Day School years? Back then, the school had a camp at a farm in Putney, Vermont. Our class would go for a week in the spring, and I spent a few summers there as well. We would run around the fields, go on the ropes course, milk cows, swim in the muddy pond, get lost on hikes, learn rock climbing, and on and on…. Putney was always a highlight. Above: Zack chats with Emily Walker Bracchitta, Director of Alumni Relations, at Reunion 2019—where he celebrated his 30th reunion.
