Enamored with the story structure and overall message, Taliyah suggested that the novel be added into the English department's curriculum. For the next four years, from 2016–2020, Trevor students read Bronx Masquerade and, inspired by the creativity of the book's characters, crafted personal poems and shared them in their very own "Trevor Masquerade."
