Sarah Morisseau Lafferty, Director of Lower School Admissions and Financial Aid by Carie Illisie, Associate Director of Lower School Admissions and Jacki Bissu, Assistant Director of Lower School Admissions Over the past five years, Sarah has endlessly contributed to the Trevor community. After coming out of retirement to continue her influence in the admissions field, Sarah's out-of-the-box thinking helped prospective families see Trevor's true spirit. She is a powerhouse in the admissions world, sharing her broad experience and expertise of independent school thinking with all who worked with her. Sarah always placed great importance on connecting with families. With her creative, unique, and fun ideas, prospective families were always given a peek into our warm and welcoming environment. Sarah's love for the Trevor community is clear, as evidenced by her enthusiastic involvement in all Lower School events. Celebrating milestones for both students and staff are important to her—she never missed an opportunity to make sure staff felt appreciated on their birthdays. She attended many plays, science fairs, and assemblies and most recently, loved sharing lunch with Pre-Kindergarten students. Her enthusiastic spirit is infectious. She boosted morale within her department and always celebrated when a new student enrolled by ringing her famous cowbell. We wish Sarah all the best as she begins this new chapter in her life and is able to spend time on her many creative hobbies, enjoying her loving family and puppy, as well as tending to her beautiful farm in New Hampshire. Sarah has inspired us to think creatively and try new things. We are so grateful. We will miss Sarah but will continue to treasure our friendship and will always view her as our mentor. Reuben Henry, Support Staff by Lisa Lanzi, Executive Director of Operations Trevor has benefited greatly from having Reuben Henry on its staff for more than two decades. Reuben began at Trevor in 2000, and in his 22 years with the school, he worked in four Trevor locations—East 89th Street, East 90th Street, West 88th Street, and East 95th Street. His flexibility and willingness to serve the school in whatever capacity was needed was a hallmark of his tenure. Reuben enjoyed carpentry immensely, which was fortuitous, as it is a unique and crucial skill set to have among a facilities team. Since our move to 312 East 95th Street, Reuben refinished the Harkness Table in room 604—a huge undertaking that resulted in the restoration of its elegant beauty. e Harkness Method is of utmost importance to Trevor, and I am proud that Henry's work contributed to a signature way in which students and teachers engage with each other. Above and beyond all that he accomplished for Trevor, and the thousands of students, parents, faculty, and staff members that he supported, he was a kind and joyful human every day at work. In a school setting in which adults are expected to model behavior for students, the ability to always remain positive and kindhearted is an invaluable quality in an employee. My sincere thanks to Reuben for his service and best wishes in his retirement. 0 9 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n S U M M E R 2 0 2 1 – 2 0 2 2
