Mishal Saeed, Upper School Academic Support Specialist, married Kal Zia on June 18, 2023. Congratulations, Mishal and Kal! Richard Thornburgh, Upper School History Teacher and History Department Chair, and his wife, Samantha, welcomed a happy and healthy Georgia Louise Thornburgh on February 27, 2023. She weighed in at 5lbs 7oz and was 18.5 inches long. Rebecca Lancaster, Middle School Mathematics Teacher, her husband Jeremy, and big brother James welcomed Rose Gloria Lancaster on September 2, 2022. She weighed in at 6lbs 2oz and was 19.25 inches long. Philip Perez, First Grade Associate Teacher, was accepted into Bank Street Graduate School of Education to pursue a Master of Science in Education with Dual Certification in general education and special education. Philip begins his part-time studies in the fall of 2023. Laurie J. Roth, Director of Performances and Events and Upper School Dance Teacher, was accepted into the EdD in Dance Education doctoral program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Laurie begins her part-time studies in the fall of 2023. Summer Syphax, First Grade Head Teacher, completed her MEd from Bank Street Graduate School of Education on May 4, 2023. Jameelah Taylor, Middle & Upper School Chorus Teacher, hosted a session at the New York American Choral Directors Association & Music Educators' Association of New York City's May Choral Professional Development Day in May 2023.
