Programming, and DEI Initiatives. The campaign was announced at April's Parents Association Auction Benefit, where we celebrated reaching $26M raised thus far of our $35M goal. I have even committed to writing Trevor Day School's fascinating history, an endeavor that will take time, love, and dedication— all of which I have for Trevor. To say that I have had fun is an understatement. Very early in my tenure, my predecessor Pam Clarke told me that the neatest thing about this school were the students. How right she was. But I will add that the faculty, staff, parents, and alumni are right up there with them. How could they not be? The excitement and joy that pervade this place; the engagement in learning; the commitment to our mission; and the belief that each person has a cherished place in our community–hallmarks rarely seen in schools today. I know that my successor is committed to all that makes Trevor unique and special. After all, it is a telling sign of a successful and mature school that it finds within its own ranks an alumnus of such talent, grace, ability, and distinction to lead us into the future. Indeed, the impression I gained from my first meetings with Daniel Feigin ten years ago have more than stood the test of time. Dan brings experience and wisdom to this position, having served in just about every other role that he possibly could have. Just as he was a gifted English teacher, coach, alumni director, Middle School Director, Upper School Director, and Assistant/ Associate Head of School, he will bring those same talents to bear on his new responsibilities of continuing to advance Trevor into the best place for children in the city of New York. I suspect the novelty has worn off regarding my many written and spoken statements applauding how this school is based on ambitious academics, engaged students, and balanced lives. But all this is true, and more. We make this promise to families year after year because we believe so fervently in its power. I depart as Head of School with few regrets and with enormous gratitude to my extraordinary colleagues, students, parents, and alumni for your support of this man who felt reborn in education nine years ago. There could be no greater gift. Many, many thanks. Trevor Together. Scott R. Reisinger Head of School, Emeritus 2023 TREVOR DAY SCHOOL / 79 INSIDE TREVOR TREVOR TRANSLATES FEATURE AR TICLES ALUMNI
