During the 2022–23 school year, Gwen helped lead her team to a 12–0 record in the NYCAL and a 22–2 record overall, alongside senior teammates Amelia M. '23, Darcy S. '23, and Nnyala S. '23. Their team won both the regular season and postseason tournament. The team has also qualified for the NYSAIS State Tournament twice in the past three years. Director of Athletics Maggie Martini- Minieri says of this milestone, "What a great achievement Gwen reached... and with so much of the season still remaining! In my previous 13 years of collegiate athletics, I have only seen a handful of student-athletes reach the 1,000-point mark. The time and effort our student-athletes put in do not go unnoticed. Congratulations to Gwen! She exemplifies what it means to be a Trevor Dragon, both on and off the court!" Gwen's coach, Matthew Werner, considers working with Gwen a privilege. "To get to 1,000 points in your varsity career takes hard work, dedication, and a relentless drive to improve. Gwen perfectly embodies those characteristics. Anyone who sees Gwen play basketball can see a stellar athlete with a passion for the game, but her coaches and teammates have had the privilege to see all the work she has put in over the last five years to become the player she is today. I couldn't be more proud of her for accomplishing this incredible milestone, in what has truly been an incredible and championship-winning career." In Trevor's record books, Gwen now joins the company of Edward Constanza '94, Kevin Morris '96, Corey Simmelkjaer '97, Kate Merker '98, Laura Rosenshine '01, Matthew Berkin-Harper '02, Sophie Lasry '11, Jane MacKerron '16, Justin Fishman '17, and Thomas Feigin '21, each of whom reached this thrilling 1,000-point milestone in their Trevor varsity basketball careers.
