at Harvard University, where she is currently a PhD student in Computer Science in the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Her PhD study is focused on environmental science applications of AI, in an effort to help conservationists accomplish their work more efficiently. Henry Sherrington, Class of 2018, majored in Applied Mathematics and minored in Environmental Analysis at Washington University in St. Louis, and he is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sustainability Management at Columbia University. He is a Strategy Consultant at Advanced Waste Techno- logies, a start-up that converts plastics into fuel. Trevor alums offered themselves as a resource to current students and explained that networking and keeping pace with the market are key, as there is not always a traditional pipeline to sustainability jobs. They encouraged students to pursue their passions and novel ideas, to look for real-world connections to their learning, and reflect on their Trevor experiences outside of the classroom. They were also highly optimistic about entering the world of environmental studies—calling it a broad and dynamic field that is an art and a science and an opportunity to solve pressing problems for the first time. That is an exciting prospect for all Trevor students, especially those who are pursuing or considering an Environmental Studies concentration during their time in the Upper School. We developed this interdisciplinary concentration in response to great interest from our students and the growing need for smart and agile thinkers to address complex environmental issues. Asked about how each of us can make a difference to the health of the planet, our smart and agile alums reminded us that seemingly small actions collectively make a huge impact. These include reducing plastic use, reducing synthetic clothing consumption, using public transportation, and more. And that we must all play our part. Their return was a celebration of all that they are achieving in service of sustainability. n TREVOR DAY SCHOOL / 15 INSIDE TREVOR TREVOR TRANSLATES FEATURE AR TICLES ALUMNI
