Natalie: I love dancing. Again, Choreolab made me realize that I can always be my own choreographer. I like to do little dances with my daughter; we make them up together. I love cooking and exploring new recipes. I love understanding my cultural heritage and the foods that I want to continue to pass on to my family. I love to run. I didn't know that it was a stress reliever until I went to Trevor. I became addicted to running around the reservoir; having access to Central Park was so unique. Any break that I had, I would just go running, because we didn't have many green spaces in the Bronx back then. Mason: What is your outlook and hope for the future? Natalie: In the future, I want the opportunities that were given to me to happen to even more people. Great programs like A Better Chance or Oliver Scholars allowed someone like me to be able to have the opportunity to attend Trevor Day School. It just takes someone to have hope in you and sow some seeds for things to blossom. I see the fruits of that in the work that I do. I want peace and justice for all. I want to be able to see a world where we can eliminate health inequities. Where everyone has a fair shot to live a healthy life. It shouldn't matter where you live or where you come from or what you look like. And, I know it sounds a bit idealistic, but for people to be happy. There's so much misery, hurt, and pain in this world, and I want us to be able to heal and have peace. We are so fortunate to live in this country and have the resources that we do. I feel like there's so much more we can do. Politics always becomes a barrier, but it pains me because I can't imagine why we have these crises. There's so much war and pain and hurt and people that are hungry, who just want all of that to end. They just want peace, and I don't know how to do it, but I feel in some small ways I can help accomplish some things, and that's eliminating women from dying when it should be the most wonderful experience of their life. Mason: You're doing great work and I'm so glad that you're having success and that you've built the organization you have. I can only wish you greater success in your mission going forward. Congratulations and good luck. n Admissions Club, 1996 TREVOR DAY SCHOOL / 51 INSIDE TREVOR TREVOR TRANSLATES FEATURE AR TICLES ALUMNI
