and the Kâ12 total was 555, up from
392 the previous year.
In the following year, the high school
was up to 99 students with a total
enrollment of 605, which beat the
median projections. The finances
were essentially in balance, and it was
becoming increasingly clear that the
board had made the right choice. TDS
was on its way toward becoming the
school it is today.
The board minutes of that period
contain many commendations for
its leadership: David Kleger, John
Herrman, Alexandra Peters, Jeff
Miller and, most of all, Cynthia
Bing, whose leadership was evident
throughout. Her positivity, strong
grasp of the overall process, as well
as the details, tireless devotion to
the process, and, as is specifically
mentioned at one point in a letter
read to the board, "her forthrightness
and integrity." TDS was incredibly
fortunate to have her leadership at
that moment in its history. n
The asset transfer
agreement was signed
on April 23, 1991, and
TDS formally became the
owner of the West Campus
building. The renovations
were completed in time for
the opening of the TDS West
Campus in September
of 1991. The new high
school had managed to
enroll 65 students,
