even though many of our clients now understand it's really a resource. But changing it to something like "Resource Administration Tracking Software," or R ATS, might not go over very well. Michael: What stands out most when you think back on your time at Trevor? Laura: One of the things that stands out most from my time at Trevor is how much I loved being part of a team. I played basketball, and women's sports at Trevor were incredibly encouraging and empowering, which gave me a lot of confidence going into college. I was also always drawn to science and math, especially biology, and Trevor's teachers made it easy to ask questions and explore subjects more deeply. I remember the middle school years in particular as a time when my teachers created a really supportive environment that encouraged curiosity and learning. Michael: You recently returned to campus to speak with Environmental Studies students. What was it like to come back in that role? Laura: Coming back to Trevor in that capacity was really special. When I walked into the building, the first things I thought about were the people who had meant so much to me, including my coach, Suzanne Gleason who is still at Trevor. She had a big influence on my experience. Michael: What advice would you give to students or young alumni interested in sustainability or entrepreneurship? Laura: The sustainability field is incredibly broad and growing quickly, so my biggest advice is to stay curious. Read about the issues that interest you, take classes in those areas, and look for internships or jobs that let you experience different parts of the field. There are many paths within sustainability, and finding the right fit may take time, but if you keep learning and exploring, you'll eventually find where you belong. Michael: What are you currently reading or exploring? Laura: Lately I've been reading and listening to books about sales and leadership, and I've also been exploring mindfulness. Personal growth is important to me, and I think it's valuable to spend time reflecting on who you are, understanding those habits and experiences that shaped you, and continuing to grow. There's always something new to learn, both in leadership and in life. n 1. Girls Varsity Basketball, Laura bottom row far right. 2. Laura and Cate Bell from the Trevor Yearbook. 3.
