Sometimes, if it's really rainy or if it's really cold, I might take the bus—but all summer I've gotten to ride back and forth every single day. I love it. K C : Last question for me. What's your favorite hobby? A W : Wow, that's a great question. I like to write. at's one thing I like to do when I have free time. I have to tell you, I have a son who's nine and he loves Legos. And, I actually love Legos too, so we end up building a lot with Legos. So, that's another hobby. K C : My dad banned Legos at the house, after he stepped on them. E D : My mom's a writer. A W : I think that's a great question for your family. I don't think 3rd graders need phones too much, and in school they would be a little distracting. But if you have a phone, you can always use it outside of school, if that's okay with your family. K C : What's your favorite candy? A W : I really, really love Reese's Pieces, but we can't have those in school because they have peanut butter. So when I don't have that, I really like dark chocolate. K C : So you love a lot of chocolate. A W : I like chocolate, a lot, yes. And for fruit things, I like Swedish Fish. Have you ever had those little red fish? Delicious! E D : I forget what it is called, but this book had a fish and he fed it too much and it turned out really big—so the teacher gave us Swedish Fish. A W : I love that book. at's one of my favorite books, actually. ey put the big fish in the swimming pool. It's called A Fish Out of Water—I have it at home! E D : How do you get to work? A W : I ride my bike as much as I can. over the mantle of Lower School Division Director, at the same time serving as the chair of Trevor's NYSAIS Reaccreditation Process. She also retained a substantial share of her responsibilities as Associate Head of School. With the appointment of Andy Wilson, from Ethical Culture Fieldston School as the new Director of Lower School, Lisa has been able to return to her major responsibilities as Associate Head, leading curriculum and teaching. In her position, she works to guide department chairs and curriculum coordinators, oversees professional development and evaluation, and works with me to bring to fruition the school's Strategic Plan— especially in those areas related to the education program. I am grateful to have such a gifted educator and leader back as my Associate Head. I write all of this to say "thank you" to Lisa Alberti. e entire Trevor community owes her a huge debt of gratitude for answering the call to lead the Lower School, to complete the renovations of the Goodman Building, and to bring vision as well as stability for the last two years. As one parent recently told me, "Lisa does outstanding work…we were…we are so lucky to have her here when we needed her." We are indeed. n Top: A page from Mr. Wilson's 3rd- grade notebook.
