'18 presented "Transform Your Math or Science Class with Coding" at a NYSAIS Teaching with Technology conference at the independent school Léman Manhattan. e Teaching with Technology conference is an opportunity for teachers and other educators to attend workshops taught by their peers. Teachers who effectively use technology in the classroom can share their expertise, advice, innovations, and tools with other members of the educational community. Dr. Henry led the discussion on best practices and her experiences implementing coding for some of Trevor's math and science classes. Lucia then shared her work and discussed its impact from a student's perspective. She also guided participants through an exercise. Lucia was the first-ever student presenter at a NYSAIS conference. Trevor and the Q Train With enormous fanfare and anticipation, the subway's new Q train extension opened to the public on January 1st of this year. Its final stop is a mere block from Trevor's Middle and Upper School. is extended line has had an immediate, huge, and positive impact on the Trevor community—providing a quicker and easier commute for many students, faculty, and staff. Recently, the MTA visited Trevor to ask students and faculty to share their thoughts about the Q train extension and how it has affected their lives. ey interviewed and photographed several students and faculty members, all of whom shared their excitement about their improved, shorter commute. Shortly after the MTA visit, members of the Trevor community were thrilled to see familiar faces on their subway rides. Ads have run in other subway lines in addition to the Q—so it has already been seen by many thousands of New Yorkers. Please keep your eyes peeled for these familiar faces!
