Because of the Trevor curriculum: n students' own fascinations drive academic and artistic breakthroughs. n field exploration takes students beyond the classroom to New York's myriad resources. n creative cooperation, rather than isolated competition, inspires new intellectual risks. e city acts as teacher, laboratory, and canvas in the Trevor curriculum. e first-grade bird study, for instance, brings students to the Ramble in Central Park for bird-watching, calls upon our neighbor—the Wild Bird Fund—for expertise in urban ecology, inspires diverse artistic replicas of native birds' nests, and fuels a student-made crafts sale to benefit local nonprofits.
