A Letter from the Head of School Dear Trevor Community: "It's all about inquiry.…" As I have mentioned throughout the 2015–2016 school year, Trevor's Board of Trustees has been working to form a strategic plan that will set a clear direction for our school in years to come. In their many committee discussions, two themes always surface: children at the center of their learning, and inquiry-based education. While the final strategic plan will be unveiled this fall, one concept is a given: Trevor will build upon its already extraordinary faculty, curriculum, students, parents, and alumni to claim its place as the thought leader in inquiry- based education. We will do so in the interest of the children we serve. is summer's Trevor Magazine shows the many strides accomplished in that aspiration—including advances in our history and computer science curricula, and the encouragement of independent study opportunities. In all we do, we honor students and teachers, and their great talents and passions. As you will read, much of our commitment is reflected in longstanding Trevor traditions and signature programs—such as our student-led family conferences, in which students partner with faculty and parents to chart a strong educational trajectory for themselves. With generous support from our community through the Annual Fund and the fundraising efforts of the Parents Association—especially the Auction—our teachers benefit greatly from a robust professional development program. From Shakespeare to MakerSpaces, and everything in between, our dedicated faculty hone their expertise to ensure that Trevor 0 3 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n S U M M E R 2 0 1 5 – 2 0 1 6 students at every grade level will learn from adept educators and a rich curriculum steeped in inquiry-based learning— thereby positioning them to become lifelong learners and leaders whose lives will make a global impact. e example of Trevor alumni, many of whom I have met this year both on and off campus, shows our mission at work. My heartfelt thanks for your support this past year. I hope you will enjoy reading this summer magazine and conclude what I have: e stories and accomplishments of our students and alums make us proud to call Trevor our school, our family, and our home.
