I am also a Professional Ski Instructor of America, Level 3; a US Sailing instructor; and a United States Coast Guard Licensed Captain. What are your passions? Skiing and sailing are my lifelong passions. On weekends, I teach a program called PowerLearn at Windham Mountain. In the summer, I teach sailing on my boat, Time Out, and I volunteer as a skipper for Women on Water, taking out women who want to learn the basics of sailing or build on their existing skills. For many years, I have also been passionate about teaching resuscitation and helping others save lives. How has your career developed over the years, and what are you are doing now? For the majority of my career, I worked for either the American Heart Associ- ation or Laerdal Medical (Rescusci Annie—the dummy used for training) and, at times, was working on projects for both organizations. I'm particularly proud of my contribution to the development of a CPR training program for the American Heart Association called CPR in Schools, which teaches lifesaving skills to students. When young people learn the skills to save a life at an early age, it helps their self-esteem and contributes to their growth as good citizens. I also helped develop the guidelines for implementing automated external defibrillators (AED) programs in the workplace. I followed my passion to Philips Healthcare over eight years ago, where I started as a Corporate Account Manager, helping Fortune 500 companies implement AED programs. How has sailing played a role in your life? My passion for sailing began on the Ottawa River, where I spent my summers as a child and where my only means of transportation was a Butterfly (a fun, lightweight, 12', small lake sailboat). As a teen, I learned to single-hand the family Hobie 16', and from 2000 to 2005, I raced and lived aboard Lapwing, a 1955 34' classic wooden sailboat on Martha's Vineyard, MA. 4 2 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n W I N T E R 2 0 1 8 – 2 0 1 9
