Trevor parents attend the workshop on Redlining and Accessibility, and learn how this practice marginalizes and stigmatizes communities. History of the Pride Movement Jim Roche, Upper School Science Teacher, facilitates a workshop on the history of the Pride Movement. As part of the workshop, participants viewed excerpts from the documentary Stonewall Uprising. Bob Parlin, public school teacher and cofounder of Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN), was a guest speaker, via Skype. Mr. Parlin founded the first gay-straight alliance in the nation's public schools. Junior Sara G., one of the leaders of Queers & Allies, runs a workshop on how the LGBTQ+ community is represented in film, television, and music. The N-Word White Privilege Ninth graders Manuel H., Nnyala S., and Oliver S. attend the White Privilege workshop facilitated by Upper School English Teacher Kevin Smith. is workshop had previously been offered through the Contemporary Multicultural Issues curriculum.
