to serve as advocates and assist community members in their efforts to broker systems. Please reflect on your experiences on the front lines of this pandemic. While many of the physicians in my hospital were on the front lines during the height of the pandemic, resident surgeons were required to be on standby in the event that fellow colleagues in other departments required assistance with COVID patients. I will never forget this unprecedented time in history, which is also occurring during a critical period in my surgical training. But while I was most concerned about the major influx of COVID-19 patients, and the health and well- being of my colleagues during the early phase of the pandemic, the moratorium on non-emergent operations granted me a much- needed break from my demanding, hectic schedule. During my quarantine days, I was able to resume some of my other passions, such as reading and running—while spending much of my time educating myself about the novel virus, and preparing for upcoming board exams. But my days off had other collateral benefits for me: I was able to catch up with my relatives, and to spend much needed time, virtually, with my friends and loved ones. I wanted to make certain that everyone was following the safety and health protocols, such as social distancing, wearing a face mask in public, regular hand washing, and leaving the house only for essential reasons. Now, having returned to a regular work schedule at the hospital, my concerns remain. It's also a bit strange for me when I enter the hospital. e newly established norms—i.e., temperature checks upon arrival, and the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)—are a change to which I am currently adapting. Nevertheless, this challenging time in our country has reminded me that one should never take anything for granted— and especially not one's health. I remain grateful for and indebted to all of our healthcare employees, and other essential workers for their sacrifices. On a daily basis, these very brave men and women continue to put their lives on the line! What are some fond memories of Trevor? ere are so many memories that come to mind. I began my Trevor journey in September 2003, as a 9th-grade student. I recall being introduced to some of my classmates during the volleyball preseason a couple of weeks prior. is was just the beginning of many volleyball and track preseasons that I would attend over the course of the next four years. I especially remember volleyball preseason 2004, when Coach Gleason called me over to the dining room table and asked if I'd like to join the Varsity Team as a sophomore. I remember jumping for joy as I ran back to the table to tell my close friend, Chanel, who was already on the team. I have so many fond memories of track preseasons in Orlando, Florida, with Coach Anderson, which included visits, on our off days, to my most favorite place on Earth: Walt Disney World. I will never forget my favorite time of year: Choreolab. From auditions, to rehearsals, to planning wardrobe, and preparing for the big recital
