Above: A healthy way to start the school day. Weather permitting, twice a week, at 7:15 am, students gather at the Community Garden to learn or practice yoga. Laurie Roth, Grades 6–12 Dance Teacher, covers basic yoga poses, breathing practices, stretching, and relaxation techniques as a method to improve flexibility, decrease stress, and improve physical and mental well-being. Right: With yoga mats in hand, 10th graders Molly L. and Leila K. discuss the day ahead. Below: The garden is an ideal place to unwind and reconnect. Kudos and thanks Trevor parents played a major role in the garden's construction. At the 2018 Parents Association Gala, the evening's Emotional Appeal raised more than $225,000 toward this project—it was truly a community effort. Peter Gisolfi Associates, the architects who designed the LEED-certified, state-of-the-art building, worked closely with Maya Lin to formalize plans and handle filings. Qwest Contracting executed the design. Daniel Feigin, Assistant Head of School and Director of Upper School, was Ms. Lin's primary liaison—with Head of School Scott Reisinger and Liza Lanzi, Executive Director of Operations, always there to lend their able hands and enthusiastic expertise. n he Community Garden is an extension of Trevor's signature common spaces. 2 9 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n W I N T E R 2 0 1 9 – 2 0 2 0
