Experience Trevor Year 6 Records are made to be broken—and break them we did. On January 21st, 160 parents and alumni joined this annual Trevor tradition in which adults go to class much as Trevor students do. Curbed by the pandemic, Experience Trevor had to abandon its fun-filled evening on the East Campus and, instead, went virtual. is format made two major—and positive—changes possible: is year, parents could register for up to three 40-minute sessions (as opposed to only two in past years), and, for the first time, prospective Lower School families were invited to attend. Sarah Lafferty, Director of Lower School Admissions and Financial Aid, explains: "For some time, we've wanted to ask prospective Lower School families to join us for Experience Trevor. In a year with so many challenges, inviting them via Zoom finally provided that option. ese prospective families had a wonderful peek into life at Trevor's Middle and Upper School, and what a complete Nursery through 12th Grade education might look like for their children." RAVES FROM PARENTS "I thoroughly enjoyed my classes, had my great confidence in Trevor and the faculty reaffirmed, and came away generally inspired. It has been a tough year all around, and I truly appreciate the break this evening provided." b "e classes were all wonderful, well-prepared, organized, thought-provoking." b "Each teacher was special in their own way. For Governance and Politics, the data shared (to provide context) and the questions asked really helped me understand as a parent how this difficult topic could be covered in a high school class. For Stamped, Dacel's energy was infectious, even though we were virtual. And, for Marine Science, it was engaging to learn about Winn's experiences and share the class across the Upper, Middle, and Lower schools." TEACHERS "e parents made great contributions that sparked good discussions." b "[I loved] the inclusion of prospective parents, who then shared their excitement at possibly being able to send their kids to a school that has such dedicated faculty." b "It was fun to meet parents outside of my division. Best part was talking to the prospective parents." PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES, NOW ADMITTED "[Experience Trevor] was a great insight into the school, and the ethos, and the sensibility, and it was beautiful—and beautifully done. And made ME want to be a student again." b "WOW! What a unique and thoughtful perspective on sharing Trevor. We appreciated the opportunity to learn about the school as well as learn a couple of new things for ourselves." 1 2 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n S U M M E R 2 0 2 0 – 2 0 2 1
