Faculty Bulletins Dacel Casey, Grades 6–12 Library Media Specialist, Director of Community and Global Partnerships, reported that earlier in the year she was accepted to the NYSAIS Education Information & Technology (NEIT) Committee. One of Dacel's tasks is assisting with designing, organizing, and facilitating NEIT's annual conference. Given that the event is organized by librarians and technologists, Dacel notes "It's a great space to learn what new educational technologies are out there and to hear what other people are doing in their schools." Evan Feist, Lower School Music Teacher (leave replacement), contributed to a recently published book entitled Teaching Music through Performance in Contemporary A cappella. Megan Henry, Grades 9–12 Science Teacher, has written a book about her research on gravitational theory—which she has been conducting for nearly two decades. Entitled An Incomplete eory, the book is targeted to a popular, lay audience, and Megan has shared it with her students. She published this volume with the help of her two oldest children, who handled the book's production and art. Trevor alum Lucia Gordon '18 edited the final manuscript and also wrote the blurb on the back cover. https://www.amazon.com/ Incomplete-eory-Search-Quantum- Gravity/dp/B09KN2L8N5. Clodagh McCloskey, Grade 3 Head Teacher, is passionate about sustainability and was awarded a grant last summer that supported her creation of a sustainability curriculum for 3rd graders. e grant focused on the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—fully defining those terms as well as seeing each of them through different lenses, and connecting them to science, art, writing, and service learning. As part of the 3rd graders' crayon recycling initiative, for example, students learned about states of matter and the transformative quality of recycling processes. Future highlights will include learning about composting, performing experiments, adding a vital new 4th R (Repair) to the famous 3Rs, and inviting the entire Trevor community to join in additional sustainability projects. Tim Otto, Grades 6–12 Music Teacher, has released a new CD/EP with his jazz trio, Free Ride. It was completed in early 2020, just as COVID swept the world. Entitled Double Single, the CD consists of four instrumental tracks—featuring tenor sax, bass, and drums. It was recorded at Oceanus Studios in Brooklyn. You can stream the EP on music platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, or search for "Tim Otto" and "Free Ride." To purchase a physical CD you can go to cdbaby. com; or you can buy one directly by emailing Tim, or by visiting the East Campus band room.
