Lauren Aldoroty '13 Lauren Aldoroty '13 shared, "Very excited to announce that I passed my thesis defense entitled 'Properties of the Color-Magnitude Diagrams of Type Ia Supernovae,' and am now Dr. Aldoroty! I will be moving to North Carolina, where I have a position at Duke University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate working on preparations for cosmological analyses using data from NASA's next flagship space telescope, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope." Congratulations, Lauren! We're looking forward to learning more about your work. Emily Cohn '13 Emily Cohn '13 gave us a full update on her recent work that included a project with her brother and fellow alum Max Cohn '10. "I was thrilled to spend a good portion of 2022 on set directing and working as a 1st AD (Assistant Director) on a wide range of commercials, short films, and an independent feature. Best All Around [Short Film]: This past June, I had a blast filming this short, set in a summer camp, from the inimitable writer/ actor Sophie Zucker, a BK-based comedian and fellow Oberlin alumna. Its premiere date is TBD. St. Marks [Pilot Episode]: A Crown Heights-set broad comedy from creator Donna Augustin. Since my ultimate goal is to work in comedy TV, this was a total dream. It was also a good experience for me to join and work with an almost entirely new set of collaborators. We're finishing up post now. Assistant Director for All Good [Short Film]: One of two ambitious short films that I assistant directed. Big party scene, many locations and brownstone stairs, and talented, kind people! This short was written by Emily Adams, directed by Ellie Gravitte, produced by Rob Alicea and Briana Aceti and co-starred Jefferson White (Yellowstone, The Twilight Zone). Proof of Concept [Short Film]: Ten locations in two days? Sure! My older brother, Max Cohn '10, co-wrote and co- directed his first short film with writer/actor Ellie Sachs all about making fun of short films. It should screen at every film school from now on. If I say anything more, he will get cranky. [Editor's note: Proof of Concept will debut in June at the Tribeca Film Festival.] This Closeness [Feature Film]: This Closeness comes from writer/director/actor Kit Zauhar. Her second feature, which will premiere at SXSW, is an intimate, well-written relationship drama with knockout performances. This was the perfect way to end the summer. We filmed over a few weeks in September primarily in Williamsburg. Kit, Ani Schroeter (producer) and Gia Rigoli (line producer) assembled a stellar team. It will be a treat to celebrate their accomplishments in Austin. If you'll be at SXSW, definitely go see the film!" TREVOR DAY SCHOOL / 75 INSIDE TREVOR TREVOR TRANSLATES FEATURE AR TICLES ALUMNI
