Claudia Folgar FFac'20 Claudia Folgar FFac'20 sent us a great update about how she and her family are doing after their move to New England and what she's been up to recently. "Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing super well. I send my love to my Trevor family, whom I miss dearly. All is well in MA. I didn't think I would miss NYC as much as I do. Fortunately, the rest of my clan has taken to MA like fish to water. My husband Emmett loves his nature runs and my boys love being around their cousins and their abuelos, who do whatever they say. Éamonn is happy in his new school (Nashoba Brooks School) and I get to volunteer in his class. I often walk through the school with a super critical eye comparing Nashoba to Trevor. The mascot at NBS is Brooks the Bear and I think about how Sunny the Dragon could easily take Brooks. I also wanted to let you know that because of Trevor and all I learned there through my 12 years, I had a great opportunity last fall. I was contacted to work on a film called Guerrilla Habeas as a DEI consultant. The film focuses on immigrant families whose lives were torn apart by the aggressive and hostile laws that the Trump administration took toward immigrant families. The film tells the story of the intrepid lawyers and activists who fought to protect families. The film also shows the case of Baba Sillah (who was pardoned by Governor Cuomo), among other aspects of the American immigration system. It has been an amazing experience to work on the film. Professionally, I got to travel to promote the film and sit on panels including one that was hosted by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Center and mediated by Kerry Kennedy. Personally, this project is near and dear to my heart—since, as you know, I am an immigrant myself. Many members of my family are also immigrants including my husband, who got his green card through me and with the help of my amazing dear friends (Jackie, Laura, Lily, and Sandra). The film has gotten a lot of attention, and although we didn't make it on the shortlist for an Oscar, MSNBC picked it up and Trevor Noah is a producer. It was first shown on MSNBC as part of Trevor Noah's documentary series The Turning Point on February 5, 2023. It also streams on Peacock. I sincerely miss you all very much. It is true: Absence does make the heart grow fonder. Con mucho cariño, Claudia" Malcolm Kron '22 and Peter Marks '20 Malcolm Kron '22 and Peter Marks '20 are on the Track team for Colgate University. Tracey Leitman AP'18 Tracey Leitman AP'18 shared news about a number of alums: "Just wanted to share that Sammy's group of boys from 2018 are still best of friends and the most wonderful young men, in good part because of Trevor's mission. Six of the guys went on Birthright together this summer and another three met up to travel in Europe as graduation presents from their very generous parents—after they had all missed junior semesters abroad because of COVID. This photo was taken in Dubrovnik… families included, some of whom I count as my closest of friends! A few were unable to come, but we still all see each other. Love those boys and Trevor is in large part to thank for who they are today and their closeness!" TREVOR DAY SCHOOL / 77 INSIDE TREVOR TREVOR TRANSLATES FEATURE AR TICLES ALUMNI
