Sari Biddelman FFac '22 Former faculty member Sari Biddelman announced the birth of Royce Mickey Sussman on May 14, 2023. "Barreling in at 5lb and 12oz! Morrison loves him and everyone's smiling, tired, and healthy!" Congratulations! Many Trevor alums were at a benefit for the Brooklyn Youth Sports Club last December. BKYSC assists Brooklyn youth in their pursuit of college enrollment, using basketball as the hook for academic engagement and leadership development. Seen here are Faiz Khan '11, Head of School Mr. Daniel Feigin '84, P'26, Tate Kelly '05, Ian Dalrymple '05, Zachary Frankel '05, David Zheutlin, Upper School History Teacher, Lyle Fries '04, FFac '14, and David Usiak '05. Cate Fesenmyer '21 Cate Fesenmyer '21 shared that, "This summer, I completed a summer study abroad program with Sea|mester. I sailed on a 112-foot Schooner, called Argo, from the British Virgin Islands to Gibraltar, all the way across the Atlantic. Other than making lifetime friends and memories, I am also now an Advanced Open Water–certified scuba diver and can professionally chart and communicate on international radio channels! I also completed two academic courses while aboard (Nautical Science and a Leadership Seminar), which rounded out the study portion of my study abroad. It is not every day that a 19-year-old gets to jump into the middle of the Atlantic and swim with wild dolphins or use 'I sailed across the entire Atlantic Ocean this summer' as their fun fact icebreaker. To many more adventures!" Definitely qualifies as an adventure, Cate! Carolyn Levin '22 Carolyn Levin '22 was named the recipient of the Charles A. Dana Prize Scholarship. In recognition of academic achievement, character, and leadership, this award is given to roughly ten students at the end of their first year of college. The prize scholarships continue through their senior year. Carolyn also filled us in on her work at Hamilton: "I am pursuing the premedical track as an art and biochemistry major. I have been working with my organic chemistry professor in a biochemistry lab to synthesize biological/medical compounds for the past seven months and have discovered new molecules. I will coauthor several publications, one in the spring of this year and another within the next two years. I am on the executive board of the Ceramics Club, where we bring Hamilton students to the local pottery studio and lead throwing tutorials. During my breaks, I have been working as a phlebotomist in a private medical practice." Congratulations on this award and recognition of your hard work, Carolyn! Keep up the great work! 62 / TREVOR MAGAZINE WINTER 2023–24
