Staying Connected Bringing Parents Together to Celebrate a New School Year The Parents Association kicked off the school year by inviting Middle and Upper School parents to gather by grade for catered parent parties on the beautiful rooftop (when the weather permitted) or 12th-floor event space of our East Campus building and Lower School parents to gather on the terrace or in the auditorium of our vibrant West Campus building. It was wonderful to see so many people come together again! The PA also invited Lower School students and their parents to a Lower School Picnic in Central Park planned for Thursday, September 7th. Unfortunately, weeks of rain forced the cancellation of both the original picnic date as well as the rescheduled picnic, which was to have taken place on Tuesday, September 26th. Displaying Our School Spirit The Parents Association continues to partner with the Marketing & Communications team to produce, market, and sell Trevor spiritwear on both the Spiritwear website and at in-person events such as Homecoming and spiritwear sales on both East and West campuses. Enriching Our Minds In its fifth year, parents and faculty gathered virtually on December 12th for the first Trevor PA book club of the year. They discussed Never Saw Me Coming by Vera Kurian. They met again on January 17th, starting 2024 with The Guest by Emma Cline The book club will continue to meet throughout the remainder of the school year to explore a broad selection of books that traverse time periods, cultures, and perspectives. 4 / TREVOR MAGAZINE WINTER 2023–24 4 / TREVOR MAGAZINE WINTER 2023–24
