in different specialties can provide a real understanding of the profession— and the commitment it takes. Medicine is incredibly rewarding, but it also requires sacrifice, so it's important to enter the field with your eyes open and your passion intact. Trevor: What keeps you grounded during challenging days? Rachel: Strong relationships—at home and at work. I rely on a wonderful group of fellow physician moms for support, and I have a very encouraging spouse. Outside of work, I try to stay connected to the things that bring me joy. You'll usually find me at the theater, exploring the Brooklyn food scene, obsessing about the Knicks with Greg, or running in Prospect Park. Trevor: What excites you most about the future of your field? Rachel: Technology, especially AI, is opening up fascinating new possibilities. From diagnostics to imaging, it's helping us be more accurate and efficient, especially during overnight hours or when staffing is limited.
