Artists included retired Trevor photography teacher Daniel Kazimierski, Francesco Clemente, Andy Warhol, Amy Lincoln, as well as Rachel herself. Rachel's intent was to create a "microcosmic biome on Elizabeth Street." e inspiration for her "floraltopia" was a trip to Panama, and the desire to share with people the feeling of being surrounded by untamed and uninhibited flora. Jules Taylor interned at e Richard Avedon Foundation and created a 56-page gallery guide for an exhibit on America. She left the experience further enamored with and educated about Avedon's photography, more familiar with the diverse work of foundations and galleries, and inspired by the question, "What does it mean to be an American?" Also in the area of creative arts, Maya Tenzer interned for an independent documentary film agency in Brooklyn, getting hands-on experience in operations, film outreach, and archiving news footage. Chelsea Garcia researched as a lab intern at Memorial Sloan Kettering, working under Trevor parent Christine Iacobuzio Donahue—mother of eodore D. '29—on the Hydra project, in which Chelsea explored the question, "What did cancer look like in ancient times?" Chloe Barbera also interned at Memorial Sloan Kettering, but in a quite different capacity. She investigated immigrant health and cancer disparities, and worked on a hospital- based pantry program. She used her Spanish-speaking skills—honed in Trevor's World Language department—and came away from the experience with a fundamental philosophy underlying this important work: "Every patient has his or her own story." Annick and Christian Saralegui developed a competitive reality series on urban streetwear design. Jack Hendon wrote a baseball blog and performed corresponding statistical research. Nishta Dhanesar worked on more than 17 cases as a law intern for a firm focusing on workplace and employment law. Lance Charles worked on the reelection campaign for New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, opening a door to then unchartered territory for him: politics. Philip Chin performed an immersive research project on Wing Chun, a martial art that focuses on the counter-balance of force. And Joey Goehner interned for a plastic surgeon, where he felt privileged to observe surgery and assist with patient recovery. His supervising physician even hired him to head up their social media and marketing during Joey's summer before college. After completing Maine Coast Semester at Chewonki as a junior, Lily Salzman returned passionate and endlessly curious about alternative energy. She dove into a yearlong independent study on the topic her senior year at Trevor, with mentorship by James McClintock, Grades 9–12 Science Teacher, and Michael Danenberg, Grades 6–8 Science Teacher. Her independent study research led directly into her Bridge project, which was based on her search to harness wasted human energy. With further research and additional advisement on physics topics from Grades 9–12 Science Teacher Robert Stoll, Lily successfully linked piezoelectric discs together into a long series, developing a prototype of a walkway that can generate an electric P 24: Roman Peña teaches his seminar on 19th-century Europe.
