Donna Linton, Associate Director of Middle and Upper School Admissions, welcomed a grandson on July 5, 2016. Zane Philip Mindlin was born to her daughter, Alison (Chustek) Mindlin '05, and her son-in-law, Grig Mindlin. June 7, 2017 Dear Colleagues: It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I will not be returning for the 2017–2018 school year. My husband, son, and I will be leaving New York City to pursue opportunities in Bali, Indonesia. While my little family and I know that we are making the right decision for us, and we are looking forward to our adventure ahead, it was an extremely difficult choice to make—as I think of Trevor as my home and believe strongly in its mission. Indeed, it has been an enormously enriching, rewarding, and transformative experience to work amongst you all—a group of dedicated, inspiring, deeply caring, and talented people. When I first walked through the Lower School doors seven years ago, I had little inkling as to what truly lay ahead. My journey as an educator, and as an individual, was forever impacted, and to say I learned a lot is an understatement. I am a different person now because of this place, because of you all, and I am forever indebted to this institution. Because of each of you, I feel assured in the fact that the strength of the school will not only continue, but grow onward. You do more than teach about birds or the brain or the Hudson River; you do more than make and serve delicious and nutritious food; you do more than set up, clean up, stack up, take attendance, care for the sick, market the school, admit new students, and increase our funding. You are a community joined together in the care of children, impacting young lives, and you do it with joy, sincerity, and pleasure. I hope that during my time here, I was able to give even a fraction of what I gained. ank you for your trust, collegiality, and inspiration these many years. It has been a privilege and an honor. You have had a greater impact on my life than you could ever know. Yours, Dora Kwong Brian Sullivan, Grades 6–8 History Teacher, and Blair Welsh welcomed their daughter, Frankie Sullivan, who decided to enter the world during 4th period on January 26, 2017. Mr. Sullivan spread the joy of her birth by not assigning homework to his students that day. Janie Slavens, Grades 6–8 Drama Teacher, and her husband welcomed Ida Anne on June 27, 2017, at 12:38 pm, 12 days late. She weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz, and measured 20 inches. 0 5 T R E V O R D AY S C H O O L n FA L L 2 0 1 7 – 2 0 1 8 Farewell from the Assistant Director of Lower School
